It becomes necessary to desolve the ties...

For the apologists out there, do you understand that the teachers, parents, and kids who have left, or who would like to leave but are hanging in there hoping for change or don't believe they have another options, have what they believe are legitimate complaints? Not whether or not YOU think they are legitimate, but those who have taken the ultimate step of leaving felt THAT strongly about it? Pulling kids out of a school is not something taken lightly, and many who have done so were HC grads themselves. There are those who change the subject as soon as you start talking specifics, but teachers and parents have left because of Denise. Cold, hard fact.

Now...no one "fears" this blog. I know who reads it and the number of people who read it. You have to want to read it, which is why I think it is better then Newszap, where everybody gets to read it. You have to search to find it, and if I wanted broader distribution, it would be easy. I could post the link on Newszap, or I could send an email out from oldhcs@gmail.com to every single teacher and parent I could find pulling them to this site. I choose not to do that.

This step was a necessary one, but I believe the complaints that have been posted here are legitimate, and I know that at least some of them were validated by Denise's boss, who promised to address them. Unfortunately, most did not "stick" and though I applauded what I hoped was a new attitude at the beginning of the school year, she reverted back to form.

As for changes....what "changes" has the Quizz really complained about? What changes that she has made that Loyalists think are so wonderful?

READ MY POST: She is the boss! My kids are happy. I will defend what works for my kids. I am not an apologist just a realist!

You and your minions are part of the problem. The Wilmington Diocese has made a committment to Catholic education in our area. We are very fortunate!

You and I know one another intimately. In fact you know exactly how I feel. YOU are one of the ones who gently changes the subject when the ideas of change arise in mixed company!! So...either cowboy up or take a ride.

eh girlfriend?

"Intimately, eh?" I might have a shot of Jamison's every once in a while, but not quite that much.

I have no minions....wouldn't even know where to apply to get some. Do they come in packs, hordes, or gaggles?

You keep confusing the message with the messenger. I've told you time and time again that only those who care about the issue come here. Hell, I suspect YOU have probably done more for the increase in the hits to this site than any of my epistles. I hate to say this, but it is true - that many of my greatest fans are ones that have left, or are planning on leaving.

Will the school surivive? Well, of course. Unlike the last school that had, strangely enough, many of the same complaints about her, we've got larger numbers so her reign of terror can last a bit longer. Although you won't admit it, there IS a number that if she stumbles to they WILL move her. Might be a "promotion", might be a retirement, but the commitment to the school and the parish isn't all what you think, either. Ask any former priest you might happen to know about the struggles we have with Wilmington.

I have not always agreed with some of your posts, Quizz, but I have to agree with this one. I am one who left. Checking this blog periodically is one of my guilty pleasures to know that I am not the only one who REALLY DISLIKES J and was REALLY treated badly for no apparent reason.

This is an open forum, say what you will!

lol minions, love it! I'm a minion! I thought Jacono was a principal, not a boss, but wait girlfriend, I thought you were the boss??!!! you and J need to get your nicknames straight!

oh and girlfriend/boss/ whatever you and J are calling each other now a days, does my being a quiz minion make you a jacono minion? your arguments make no sense, you don't defend you beliefs you only criticize our opinion of the situation, people might take you more seriously if you actually stated your case rather than spend your time bashing all the quiz minions (teehee minions! hillarious!)

How about "Quizzons"?

Or Quiznos?

Quizz you are really losing me with all of the first person references. You are coming off as being quite full of yourself.

And "minions"? Really? You are putting a lot of time into this blog. Where are your children? In front of the TV? Take a deep breath!

The Quiz wants to know if you meant "third person".

And, to be honest, it confuses me, at times. I can't stay in character long enough.

Most of the time my references to myself are self-depreciating or tongue in cheek (ie, the comment above about my greatest "fans" leaving), but if you can't see that, I'm not surprised you have issues with analogies or, for that matter, any problems with Denise, either.

As for the kids...between camp, friends, and the like, it isn't that hard, but if it makes you happy, I had one of those parenting moments where one of the kids wanted to learn how to iron today. However, having a very flexible job helps, too.

But wouldn't it have been wonderful to capture this energy for the good of the school?

okay, you got me. Third person. If you let me slide with that I won't bring up the fact that some of your analogies are not really analogies. :) And yes, I still think that you are full of yourself. I usually agree with your postings but this blog seems to have become a big showboat for The Quizz. Maybe you should write editorials for the Dover Post, it seems like you enjoy writing and would have a larger audience.

Point taken, and I KNEW that you might point that out. Analogies, similes, metaphors...I know how to use them, but my Catholic school grammar as to which one is which is fading.

I also pondered your criticism of the third person, and I think I tend to use it when I'm being personally attacked. This blog is NOT about me; I certainly don't want it to be, but a few here want to try to turn the focus on me instead of addressing the issues. It is a way to respond with a bit of tongue in cheek, and maybe a way I think shows a bit more smart-alecky tone. Maybe the Quiz was too successful in that....
