More Wrong than Meets the Eye

I am glad to see that this blog has been created to replace the previous one. It was upsetting to know that after complaints have been made and concerns in all areas addressed that thoughts and comments of so many concerned people were once again squashed. I am not sure what the internet filtering issue is and would like an explanation of that. My concerns lie more within the fact that 1/6 of the faculty has left during the course of 10 months. With today's economy and the budget cuts in education leaving fewer opportunities for professionals to secure new employment, the situation must be extremely dire to result in so many resignations. There are people who claim teachers have left HC for other reasons than the horrendous administration. Think about it people, if you were trying to obtain a different position in your chosen profession, would you tell the truth as to why you left? It will be extremely interesting to see where the enrollment total is in the fall. Then again, that information may "disappear" from the public eye as well. I don't think there are people who are simply whining or complaining for no reason. The reasons are varied, wide-spread and disturbing.

It is disturbing to have such a high turnover at a school that historically doesn't. Turnover is not bad, but the reasons behind it can be. That people are leaving because they are being forced out, and there has been NO movement to replace them shows what a poor manager Mrs. J. must be.

Assumptions, inuendo and misinformation have led you and others down the wrong path. You sit there behind your mask and cast stones. You have no courage! Stand up, be counted!!

People that stood up have been called in and warned about the possible consequences. What misinformation has been posted? The content filter has been proven not to be working correctly.

"You sit there behind your mask" yet your comment was made anonymous as well. Have YOU no courage? People pay A LOT of money for their children to go to this school. Whith that in mind, not only is freedom of speech protected by the Constitution, they have also PAID for the right to their opinion and to voice it, anonymous or otherwise, as you have so ungraciously shown. So why don't you take a page from your own book? Lead by example and You stand up and be counted?

Spmack, I agree with you. People who don't agree with the administration may also think it would be more beneficial to fight an injustice from within the system than from the outside.

No I am sorry. You chose to pay for your child's education in a Catholic school. The benefit is education delivered in a Catholic environment. An environment that requires service, obedience and a sense of Faith. Your comments indicate that you have no idea what your role is in your child's Catholic education! You may be better off in a public school!

"Now sometimes the things commanded by a superior are against God, therefore superiors are not to be obeyed in all things." -- St. Thomas Aquinas, Doctor of the Church, Summa Theologica II-IIQ. 104

Excellent quote! Unfortunately it appears that people who do not question and are willing to follow along even if something doesn't make sense or isn't fundamentally reasonable are the ones who can accept the situations that have presented themselves over the past year. Then there are those who have witnessed and experienced the wrongs and will not "obey the superior".

Are we not a Catholic Community? Is Mrs. J not part of our school?

I Thessalonians 5:12-15

12Now we ask you, brothers, to respect those who work hard among you, who are over you in the Lord and who admonish you. 13Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. 14And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone. 15Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else.

Certain posters thought we should follow no matter what. The quote was posted to say that since some strongly disagree with her behavior (especially toward others), they feel they have the right to question her.

Sure you have a right to "question" her. But what you and others are doing is humiliating her in a public forum...uncool very uncool!!

We are discussing actions, inactions, communication and lack thereof. If there is humiliation, it is by her own hand, actions, etc.
